Back to the Egyptians!

Maybe you're surprised, but the very first mention belongs to Egypt, in the 14th century.

On a lot of hieroglyphs, you can see ancients Egyptians carry a pouch called "gridles" which look like a today's belt. It was used to hold precious belongings, Ancient Egyptians who loved luxury, used to cover their bags with beads and stones to look rich.

The more you have, the richer you are.

Medieval Age: Emergence

Let's go to the 16th century, Europeans were looking for something practical to use in every day life and of high quality so it can be used for a long time. The idea of leather bags came and it spread all over Europe.

17th century: Rise

After the 16th century demand, the 17th century brings elegant and classy leather bags for women and men starting using many colors, decorations and models, it was considered a need so it didn't belong to any gender.

20th century: Birth of handbags!

After the need, people started to think that more than a need, it could be a style and women started to carry very small bags looking like wallets. It was very tight to put everything in and it was a major turn in the bag world, they were now used as accessories.

Big market!

The bag industry is a market, everyone can wear any bag they want, regardless of the outfit and a lot of worldwide companies emerged and run the world.( L.
